Endocrinologist – Research Medical Center / HCA Midwest (Now KU Health System)
Referred to by Dr. Michelle Orr in early 2021 as part of a supposed endocrine workup.
On April 7, 2021, Yarlagadda ordered aldosterone (7 ng/dL) and renin (0.17 ng/mL/hr) labs. She never calculated or acknowledged the aldosterone-to-renin ratio (ARR ≈ 41.18).
Despite the high ARR, she told Nicole the values were "normal."
She ignored the accompanying low A.M. cortisol (1.1 mcg/dL), a significant red flag in the context of adrenal dysfunction.
Failed to document or treat Nicole’s ongoing polyuria (3500 mL in 24 hours). No follow-up questions, no concern.
Although Nicole had a known adrenal mass, Yarlagadda made no meaningful attempt to investigate it further. She ordered an MRI in December 2021 but dismissed the findings and offered no plan.
Her only response to patient concern about the tumor: "What do you want me to do, take it out?"
Follow-up note interpreting the labs drawn the beginning of April were not submitted to patient until May 7, 2021 — a month after Nicole’s visit.
Yarlagadda’s failure marked the final straw in Nicole’s attempt to receive care in Kansas City. Nicole walked away from endocrine services entirely after this.
