This is not a list of doctors who made innocent mistakes.
This is a roster of licensed professionals who had access to the truth, saw the evidence of harm, and either looked away—or helped bury it.
Each of these physicians occupied a critical position in Nicole’s care.
They were not operating in isolation.
They were connected by charts, notes, and referrals — each layering over the last.
They had the test results.
They saw the bile.
They documented the symptoms.
They had every opportunity to intervene.
But instead of confronting what they saw, they:
Whether out of fear, laziness, or loyalty to the institution over the patient — each of them contributed to Nicole’s suffering.
Some through inaction. Others through action.
But all of them through complicity.
This page is where they’re named.
This is where their silence ends.
“The Great Coward” — Central figure in concealment and mismanagement. Prescribed prednisone without naming the real disease. Let Nicole walk out misdiagnosed.
See Dr. Robert Evangelidis
Ignored autoimmune flags. Prescribed valproic acid despite clear liver injury. Deflected responsibility and steered care toward psychiatry.
See Dr. Sahar Safavi
Reframed Nicole’s complex presentation as psychiatric without proper review. Used influence and tone to finalize a damaging narrative.
See Dr. James Maturo
Ordered the April 7, 2021 aldosterone and renin labs but failed to calculate the ARR (~41.18). Told the patient the results were normal. Ignored low A.M. cortisol and signs of adrenal dysfunction. Follow-up took over a month — Nicole gave up on KC endocrine care after this. See Dr. Madhavi Yarlagadda
Claimed he “had an idea” what was wrong, but disappeared before confirming it. Authored her admission note, then vanished. Omitted valproic acid, ignored autoimmune signs, and left others to erase what he knew.
See Dr. Abdurrahman Bouzid
Omitted mention of adrenal adenoma, liver enlargement, and bile duct stricture. Repeatedly downplayed abnormal findings.
See Dr. Rusty Bergman
Performed the ERCP that triggered Nicole’s collapse. Responsible for initiating the cascade — bile duct trauma, emboli, cardiac injury, and adrenal tumor activation.
See Dr. Thomas Shireman
Failed to act on a clearly documented adrenal mass and liver enlargement. Patient was actively requesting help — he chose to suggest somatic symptoms instead.
See Dr. Avery Abernathy
Dismissed low cortisol and elevated aldosterone. Overlooked obvious adrenal dysfunction and instead floated psychiatric explanations.
See Dr. Michelle Orr
Ignored explicit patient requests for MRI and autoimmune workup. Ordered an echocardiogram which showed right heart failure — then told the patient she was fine.
See Dr. Amanda Harrell
